aurajinx It was late noon and the sun beat down warm just barely farther then right above her head. Aurajinx didn't mind the warmth on her silver tabby fur but the heat that was pouring down wasn't comfortable. The warrioress hadn't expected to find herself outside of Woodstar's den if Trueheart and Jestervoice hadn't persuaded her. The female leader hadn't been seen in half a moon after she had left to visit StarClan, it didn't worry many of her clan-mates but her doubts of the cats in the stars brought on the fears of the worst. Aurajinx shook off the fears and tried to stare into the pitch black of the den and tried to scent Woodstar's prescance.
"I don't think you'll ever be back, Woodstar."

Snakefoot stood at the entrane of the den hearing aurajinx made him want to scream. Woodstar could stay away for all he cared. He watched the she-cat before meowing " Everyone misses her you know". He looked at the cat again nothing seems to click in his mind like it did with Woodstar. Snakefoot had never loved the former leader howver having kits excited him but only with a leader to him this cat was nothing special other then someone who would fight next to him.

aurajinx Aurajinx turned to find Snakefoot, the fluffy gray deputy, her almost orange eyes flashed sincerely at the fluffy male, his snake like eyes sending chills down her spine. The silver tabby she-cat glanced into the dark den, the scents of Woodstar already fading from the cave walls. Her grandmother had told her that Eiderstar could still be sensed in the walls of the cave. Aurajinx couldn't sense anything of the sort and thought of her grandmother as crazy. The silver warrioress mentally shook herself and stared above Snakefoot's piercing yellow eyes.
"It's because she was a brilliant leader, my mother and father are very sad that she's gone. You won't disappear on us, will you?"
Aurajinx looked at the gray deputy with worry, her bright amber eyes hardening into an emotionless mask. Her thoughts went to her family and Trueheart, she wandered if they would ever leave and never come back, it would break her heart. It was breaking the clans heart knowing that a good leader was gone, and that made Aurajinx sad.

Snakefoot looked at the silver tabby his hard face softing. He knew that Aurajinx and Trueheart where supposed to be in love a thing Snakefoot had never even felt. He smelled the den one more time before smilling. "I would never leave the clan Its my job to protect it". This was true Snakefoot has to admit. He did love the clan it was his life. He hope Aurajinx wasn't planing on having a batch of little meowing parasites. But in thinking this his inside burned with a though of watching his kits rule the clan even as kits he would have them lead everything. He looked at the den woundering if his clan would accept him as Snakestar but of cousre he would wait under someone changled him for the job it was no fun when it was handed to him. "Aurajinx" he whispered. " This clan is my life and i will do what ever it takes to be a great leader and follow the path of starclan!" he meowed

aurajinx She watched the silver deputy's face soften, her orange eyes scanning his facial features, always avoiding his eyes. Aurajinx believed that Snakefoot wouldn't leave them, she could hear his words coming from the heart, it moved her just how much she believed him. She didn't trust the silver tom so much before because he had suspicious eyes but now she could tell that he was all for the clan and it's well being. She let out a breath she hadn't reliezed she had been holding and looked at the soon-to-be leader with respect shining in her sincere light amber eyes.
"I believe you, Snakefoot, and I hope you can live up to those words. Who knows, maybe you'll be a leader that will be talked about long after we're both dead."
Aurajinx ment what she said as a joking challenge, not knowing that her words would be correct. She licked her silver chest before accidently looking into Snakefoot's eyes, a jolt went through her and she looked down again. She could feel embarrassment burn her ears, oh how she wished Trueheart or Jestervoice was with her.

Ratpaw had been in the apprentice den all morning, left alone to her nap as the day continued. She had awoken only a moment ago to discover that the morning was long gone and the afternoon setting had made it's place over the camp. As she exited out of the now cool den she found herself greeted with the sight of a busy camp, even though it was partially empty. The she-cat guessed some of the cats were out on hunting patrols, and others on border patrols that were probably assigned by Snakefoot. Ratpaw sat down in front of the den, licking her paw and swiping it over her face casually. Snakefoot happened to be her mentor. She was surprised that he would bother to take on a apprentice, even though he seemed so busy. Her mother and father called it quite a pleasant surprise indeed and said something about being honored or thankful to have such a mentor. Though, Ratpaw could sense a bit of uneasiness in her father at the beginning and after the ceremony. Blinking her eyes lazily she placed her paw back on the cool grass and gazed up at the sky through the tree tops. Even though she was in the shade it was quite obvious that it was a clear and sunny day. A perfect day to hunt. Tail waving back and forth she got up on her four paws and strolled through camp, wanting to see if she could be of any use. Ratpaw wondered where her mentor was, and what he was doing. Her ears pricked as she paused in the middle of her walk to listen to the different conversations being held. Ratpaw always preferred to use her sense of hearing to pinpoint something instead of her sight and sense of smell. She did have fairly large ears so she always made sure to take advantage of them. There was the occasional buzzing that came from bees and bugs, and the noise of soft paws stepping through the grasses. The sound of pelts brushing by the foliage, and the sound of wind rustling through the leaves. But above all there was the sound of meows, purrs and the occasional grunt and growl. " Hey, look what I caught!" Nope, that wasn't the right voice. " Well, how it began-" Nuh-uh. " Well, aren't you looking pretty today~" Not that ether. " I believe you, Snakefoot..." Bingo! A smile appearing on her lips she turned around and was greeted with the sight of Snakefoot and a she-cat. Wondering if she should approach now or later she decided right then and there to ask what they were talking about. As Ratpaw came near she became more curious. Tail still waggling she walked up to the two, giving a small purr in greeting before bothering to speak up herself. " Hello, Snakefoot, Aurajinx," Ratpaw dipped her head respectfully to the warrior and deputy. " How are you doing today?" [/blockquote][/ul]

[glow=red,2,300]Snakefoot[/glow]
Snakefoot loved the word that escape Aurajinx's mouth. The best leader. This was his dream. He would lead them in every battle elimaet elders and the kits that showed no hope om his guildlines. " I will be the best leader there has ever been in all of the clans" he promised. He heared footsteps by the entrance. Good he though the more that heard it the better he would be. Hearing his apprentices voice bethind him has at first a dissapointment. "Im very good Ratpaw" he meowed in a answer. Staring at his apprentice he smiled. He could train her as a trail for when he had kits of his own he would train them better then anyone had ever train a cat. Ratpaw would be train in his ways will though he would need hopefulls for deputy until his own kits woulld be ready and fisrt he needed a mate. These two cat would nt due though one was to kind and the other two young. " You should learn Ratpaw to make your footsteps quiter when sneaking up on warrior" He meowed. However he smiled at the apprentice this was one little cat he could stand. Most where annoying but this one had potential. He like mentoring to it gave him power and control thing Snakefoot loved.

aurajinx
Aurajinx smiled in belief and respect at Snakefoot's comment, she felt it in her heart that if he kept that promise then she would follow him into any battle or war. She imagined what it would be like in the future when Snakefoot was Snakestar, the clan healthy and happy, thriving on being the best. The other four clans cowering in fear of greatness of FireClan, surrendering their territories to them. Little kits of silver and black running around her paws and Tureheart sitting by her side smiling at the little things they had made, love in both of their eyes. As long as she got her future with Trueheart she would be fine. Aurajinx hadn't noticed when Ratpaw came up, she blinked the reverie from her amber eyes and stared at the brown apprentice. She listened to Snakefoot speak so she would get an idea of what the young apprentice had said.
"Hello, Ratpaw, I'm fine."
Aurajinx listened to the rest of what Snakefoot had to say, she thought Ratpaw hadn't ment to sneak up on them but what did she know? She had been caught in her daydreams. The silver tabby warrioress smiled at the deputy, letting him know that she approved of his answer to their conversation before. She turned her smile towards Ratpaw, trying to seem friendly.

The she-cat entered the Leader's Den, taking the time to gaze around the enclosed area. She hadn't been inside this den for a long while, about a whole moon actually. She had heard it had remained vacant for a while. Maybe Snakefoot was sleeping here now that he was in charge. Breathing in with her eyes still stuck on the ceiling her ears twitched in response to Snakefoot's last quote. Ratpaw lowered her gaze to look into his yellow eyes that looked so similar to a snake's. Feeling a shiver run through her spine she blinked and turned her head away to look at the area where fresh moss lay; most likely the spot where the the leader slept. After a short pause she spoke, looking back at her mentor with a expressionless mask. " My father told me I should know better then to sneak up on a warrior, especially a deputy such as yourself without reason." Ratpaw drawled out a few words but managed to keep her voice level and at monotone. She raised her left paw again, licking it slowly and then swiping her face before showing the smirk that played on her lips. At that moment she wondered what her father and mother were doing at that time. Her father was a young warrior, and so was her mother, so they were probably off hunting right now. Ratpaw's family happened to be better at hunting then fighting. Her body was built lithe and petite so she could preform to chore of chasing down her prey with ease. Ratpaw herself had had no trouble as a kit sneaking up on others when she wanted to. She could always blend in with her surroundings with ease, especially when leaf-fall came around. She remembered the days when she would spot her mother demonstrating her hunting crouch as she stalked imaginary prey. And Ratpaw even remembered when her father slinked around the camp, able to avoid attention more easily then others. She knew she should be proud of her heritage and she most definitely was. Though her mother did hint occasionally when talking over this subject that one of her great grandmothers was a rouge, or possibly a kitty pet. Relizing she was staring off in space as she was deep in thought she realized Aurajinx had said something. " Excuse me? Oh, wait, never mind, that's good to hear." Tail twitching Ratpaw continued to look about the den. After breathing in a sigh she put on a amused mask, her long, bushy tail raising slightly. She got up on all four paws and walked around the den. " What a nice place to sleep in," she mused, and then gave a short purr. " Maybe I'll become leader one day and be able to stay in here. There are plenty of perks to being at the top, I see." Being a leader... Ratpaw imagined herself gaining her nine lives and being called 'Ratstar'. She chuckled a little at that thought. She was a little to ahead of herself seeing as she hadn't even gained her warrior name yet. Dear Starclan, she hadn't even had her first official lesson yet! But, a cat could dream, right? The she-cat wondered what her warrior cat name would be. Maybe Ratclaw? Or Ratfur. The choices were endless. But in the end it would be up to Snakefoot or the real leader of Fireclan if she ever came back. Ratpaw gave a wary glance at Snakefoot, her eyes slightly narrowed. Something told her to be a little cautious about her mentor. She then turned toward her mentor and purred. " I'm sure you would be a great leader Snakefoot. But I would be careful, there are plenty of other cat's who would kill for your spot." Ratpaw continued to hold a kind expression, smiling with both her eyes and lips. Though there was some sort of emotion dripping from her voice. Sarcasm? Malice? Only the she-cat knew. She continued to purr and playfully bopped the ambitious deputy in the nose with her tail. Her eyes opened a little wider as she passed him by while going to look at the bedding. " Including me," she whispered huskily when her face was near his ear. She walked briskly toward the bedding and then dropped and rolled over in it. Enjoying the soft and fresh moss that had recently been changed. Ratpaw seem to enjoying herself as she wriggled about. " Oh, this is so soft! Wow, Snakefoot, you sure are lucky," she meowed cheerfully. [/blockquote][/ul]

[glow=red,2,300]Snakefoot[/glow]
This little cat was going to drive Snakefoot insence. Rolling in the bedding the his Woodstar had last slept in removing the last trace of her. He would have to thank Ratpaw one day but he couldn't now woth Aurajinx here. Ratpaw though he could take down the mighty Snakefoot for leader no way if someone was going to take his place it would be his own blood. Please this cat was not even build for fighting she was to little Snakefoot though.
What would be the first lesson for this little kit. A patrol would do it would teach her manners and where she stands in the clan. If she wanted to take his place the petite brown cat had a lot to learn. " Do not go rolling in anything that you are not told to and that bedding has not been changed since Woodstar disapeered you have much to learn if you even want to think about leading" he yelled. His meow was loud but soft enough so others outside the den would not hear.
He looked at the cats one more would be enough for a patrol. Aurajinx would like Trueheart to come he knew and right now he needed support to become a leader. "It's time for your first patrol Ratpaw, Aurajinx would you like to find Trueheart and Jestervoice to join us please" He asked. Snakefoot loved to patrol sinced he smelled Hotkit one night. This was his dream to find his brother and either kill him or get him to join in his ruling plan.
"We well have Dusk patrol so eat some fresh kill and be ready to leave" he ordered.

aurajinx Aurajinx made sure she didn't space out in front of the apprentice again, though she wish she could leave the she-cat with her mentor so she could go back to her family. The small apprentice didn't seem to want her there either, she seemed thingyy and arrogant and Aurajinx wasn't sure that she liked Ratpaw. The silver tabby she-cat started to speak but the little brown apprentice kept on talking, annoyance bubbled in her throat, she tried to swallow it down but it wouldn't go. Suspicion then seeped into her annoyance as Ratpaw talked about Snakefoot's position and how others would kill for it, this made her think about the possiblities of an assassination on Woodstar. This made her suspicion grow to the rest of her clan, her attention was taken from Ratpaw as her thoughts wandered to the rest of her clanmates. She thought of her siblings plotting to kill their leader, Glorystorm idealized Woodstar and was crushed when she disappeared. Cherrykit had died from kitten-cough so she was out of the question, Jestervoice was the only one that seemed like he would be able to do anything like that, Aurajinx shook away her suspicion, Jestervoice was her brother and they were as close as any other twins.
The silver warrioress watched in horror as Ratpaw destroyed the last traces of Woodstar, her amber eyes blazed in anger and a growl escaped her throat, before she could say anything Snakefoot stepped in. His outburst startled her, his snake-like eyes unbearable to look at, Aurajinx stepped back toward the entrance of the den for she no longer wanted to be in there. Snakefoot's order to get either her brother or Trueheart realized her, the silver tabby she-cat almost ran from the den. Her amber eyes meeting Jestervoice's immediately, she didn't see the black shadow of Trueheart slinking off with two other silver tabby forms. Jestervoice looked at her with his two different colored eyes, his expression was between that of greeting and guilt. Aurajinx didn't want to know what he wasn't going to tell her now.
"Hey, brother, Snakefoot wants us to go on patrol with him and Ratpaw. Do you know where Trueheart is?"
Aurajinx watched as her brother got up, his odd eyes matching his small shake of the head, his mouth opening in a yawn though no noise came from it. She turned around and padded back to the leaders den without waiting to see if Jestervoice would follow. jestervoice Jestervoice waited patiently for his sister to get back, Trueheart was talking quietly with Glorystorm and Northfrost, the black toms back was turned to him while he could see the expressions of his brother and father. Southrain was talking to Mythwhisper by the nursery, her swollen belly looked ready to burst, his eyes meeting with his mothers green eyes just barely before she looked at his aunt again. Jestervoice licked his silver paws before glancing at the leaders den for the fifth time since Aurajinx had left, his odd eyes scanned the opening on the other side of the camp, a small brown apprentice scampered in. His green and amber eyes went back to his brother's face, Glorystorm looked very determinded and flustered while his father, Northfrost, had hope in his amber eyes and the odd determination that ran through his family's blood. Trueheart glanced back at him, the male's bright green eyes holding his with a secret. Jestervoice knew what it ment, he was to not tell his sister of this little scout that the three tom's were going on, the silver warrior blinked in reply to Trueheart and as they left Aurajinx came loping down the hill with an annoyed expression. Oh how he knew this was going to go terribly wrong.
The silver tabby male listened as his sister spoke, guilt coiled in his stomach for what he wasn't telling her. Jestervoice and Aurajinx were twins, not only were they twins but they were connected through the same StarClan guardian. Clematismagic guarded both of them so they could walk in eachother's minds, lately they couldn't which was frustrating his sister because he couldn't tell her through speech. Jestervoice felt relief as the coil in his stomach loosened, something he didn't have to lie on was where Trueheart actually was, he didn't know, the black tom tried to tell him as little as possible so he didn't feel very guilty. Jestervoice followed Aurajinx up to the leaders den, he wasn't too happy at seeing Snakefoot for the deputy frightened him but he would have to deal with it.

[glow=red,2,300]Snakefoot[/glow]
Teh silver grey tabby watched Jestervoice and Aurajinx enter the den. He scented fear. Good he though they should be scared. Patrols where always fun to lead since he loved battle. " Are you all ready to leave" Snakefoot asked. He hoped so since Aurajinx had left he had eaeten a mouse from the fresh kill pile. It should be an easy patrol since there had been no promblems for a moon. He had been listen to patrol reports to and knew that there clan was safe from danger for the time being. He looked out and saw the pregant female. Not more useless kit he though oh well soon he would become leader and his plan would take place. He had deiced to mate with an outsider msybe from diffrent clan. His yellow eyes darted bak to the cats in front of him waiting for an anwser.

Ratpaw crackled open one eye to look at Aurajinx's reaction to her fun. She didn't purposefully mean to get rid of her leader's scent and replace it with her own. But since the damage was done she might as well enjoy herself on the soft moss. She wondered what would it be like the sleep here all alone every night. But, if a leader happened to have a mate they wouldn't have to spend their nights alone, would they. This made her wonder if Snakefoot had a mate. She never brothered to ask. She managed to catch what was left of Woodstar's scent. She inhaled it through her nostrils and exhaled with a sigh. When she heard Snakefoot Ratpaw she righted herself into a standing position automatically. Her large ears pricked in response to the word 'patrol'. A patrol? She remembered when she was only a kit how her father would be called and leave out to patrol Fireclan's land. They would leave their mark and scent on the borders, forcing other clan cats, rouges and kittypets to shy away. She had once wondered what it be like the go out on a patrol. She hadn't fully explored the clan's territory and her excitement flared at the thought. Maybe she could capture her first prey. Ratpaw wondered what it would be. A bird, or a perhaps a mouse? It was all up to chance really. Shaking a bit of moss from her pelt she listened as Snakefoot handed out orders. They would be able to eat before they left. Licking her lips Ratpaw nodded her head. " I'll go get something for myself then." Trotting past her deputy and the warrior she made her way toward the dwindling fresh-kill pile. Apprentices, elders, kits and queens had already had their meal. And since prey was abundant due to the current season there were hardly anyone complaining about empty bellies. Actually, some cats suffered stomach problems due to themselves devouring more then they could handle. Ratpaw herself didn't take in that much at one time. Since she was a skinny little thing she spent energy quickly, and was easily satisfied by the smallest amount of food. She just had to eat constantly sometimes. When she reached the pile her gaze traveled over the small dead bodies. A couple of mice, squirrel, a few birds and a frog. Ratpaw's nose wrinkled a little as she sniffed at the frog. She pawed at it, noticing that the skin was drying out. She didn't like frogs much, they had a odd flavor. The meat was squishy and it tasted similar to fish, only a little bitter. She doubted anyone was going to eat it so she bit down on it, and rolled out a small mouse with her paw. When she was far enough away from the pile she spat out the small meal and eyed it for a moment before starting to eat. The frog came first, and Ratpaw found it quite good when she noticed the meat wasn't to bitter. It went down smoothly, she then ate the mouse quickly. There were only bits of green skin, bone and fur left. She buried the tiny bones and whatever was remaining before returning to the leader's den. By then Aurajinx and her brother, Jestervoice, was there. She sat next to the pair, her long and fluffy tail curling around her paws. Satisfied by her meal she felt full of energy now. Ratpaw made sure to remind herself to get a drink of water later. " All ready Snakefoot!" Ratpaw chimed, a flicker of excitement evident in her eyes. Her first patrol! That was the first step toward becoming a full fledged warrior.[/blockquote][/ul]

Snakefoot looked at his ready troops . Thsi was going to be a weird patrol he had never gone with them before. He hoped there was no trouble since there was a newer apprentice with little trainin there next session would be battle he though. He adressed the two warriors "if you need you can brring fresh kill with you". He walked out of the den. He noticed that Ratpaw had a little to much fun with the hay. Now what would the clan think when tey smelled Woodstar on her. He didn't care he though she would never come back once he was a leader. He looked around no trouble here so he felt safe to leave. He started toward the entrance hoping that they would follow.

aurajinx, jestervoice Aurajinx didn't feel the anger around Snakefoot anymore and relief settled in her when she backed out of the den again. It was also getting musty in the den and it was nice to get some fresh air. The silver tabby she-cat could feel Jestervoice's tail on her shoulder, it was his little signal to her that he wasn't to comfortable. Aurajinx placed her tail tip on his shoulder to try and comfort him, she glanced at him and he nodded telling her that he was ready to go.
"We're ready to go,"
Aurajinx turned to Jestervoice once more and smiled comfortingly before padding forward after Snakefoot. Most cats in and out of her clan thought that it would be difficult having a mute brother but after learning the signals and emotions that he gave her it was pretty easy. She didn't know what she would do without Jestervoice, he was her twin brother and they knew eachother like their own minds.
